Alpha Phi Omega Australia (APO)
will be putting on a special treat for Mums on Mother’s Day. The event will be held on Sunday,
13 May 2007
from 6.30pm at Bowman Hall at 62 Flushcombe Road, Blacktown.
In addition, the APO group will be specially honouring
Mums over the age of 70 to celebrate their lives spent dedicated to nurturing
their children.
“Mothers are special to us,” says APO president, Mr. Shane
Almonte. “We’d like to give back to
mothers in some way, what they’ve given us for years,” he adds.
It’s a feast for mums to include a
sumptuous dinner, music and fun. Long-stemmed roses will be also available for sale on the night.
APO has partnered with Gawad-Kalinga
and all proceeds will go towards the project of building houses for the underprivileged
in the Philippines. Special donor certificates will be available
for those who wish to donate and give their mums the special “gift of giving.”
Mr. Tony Meloto of Gawad-Kalinga, the
mastermind behind this worthwhile project, will be the special guest of honour
on the night. He will grace the occasion
to share his warmth with all mothers on the day.
Alpha Phi Omega has been in
existence in the US since 1925, in the Philippines since 1950, in Australia since 1990 and has thrived on its
civic mindedness and participation.
Dinner will be provided at $35.00
per person and reservations may be made by phoning Cecile Cinque on 0414 494 821.
It’ll be an exceptional treat
guaranteed to spoil mums on their special day!
