APO Australia Press Release PDF Print E-mail

To All Brothers and Sisters of Alpha Phi Omega Australia (APO Australia):

Due to recent developments regarding the announcement of a new alumni association in Sydney, APO Australia (Chapter 75) is making the following pronouncements:

pressrel_01.jpg

1. There is ONLY ONE alumni association in Australia, registered and recognised by APO Philippines and that is - Alpha Phi Omega Australia Alumni Association (APOAAA), Chapter 75.

2. APOAAA has members from most of the states of Australia. We also recognise the existence of the alumni association in Victoria.

3. APOAAA seeks UNITY and not division among brothers and sisters. We believe that strength emanates from a united front with one voice. Growth is not achieved by dividing the current organisation into small associations.

4. APOAAA was established since 1990 and we have had major projects participated by a lot of brothers and sisters. We also have ongoing projects to serve the organisation, community and the nation including the Philippines. One of our major projects for this year is the sponsorship of an APO Australia GK Village in cooperation with the APO Australia collegiate chapters.

5. The officers in the announcement were NOT ELECTED -they were APPOINTED!!!!!. This was confirmed by some of those listed on the announcement. The officers and directors listed in the announcement were asked, either by phone or in person, if they would accept whatever position was offered to them.

6. The alleged new group is NOT A LEGITIMATE alumni associaiton of APO Philippines.

Based on all the above, we are seeking the support of all the alumni residing in Australia NOT TO SUPPORT the new group.

We believe that in UNITY, we buld STRENGTH. Let us unite into one association and pursue the ideals of the organisation with vigour and vitality worthy of members of Alpha Phi Omega.

Yours in LFS,

Brod Shane Almonte
President
Alpha Phi Omega Australia
