Every year hundreds
of thousands of Australians help clean up their local environment on Clean Up
Australia Day. Volunteering during Clean-Up Australia Day is fun, easy and
everyone can take part. Individuals and local groups are enjoined to participate. From Blacktown
to Perth hundreds of thousands of
Australians collect and remove rubbish from the environment on Clean Up
Australia Day.
According to
Clean-Up Australia report , there were around 700,000 volunteers who removed
more than 9,000 tonnes of rubbish at 7,527
sites in 2006 alone.
The involvement of
APO Australia Inc in this environmental event implements one of its identified
service projects under the leadership of President Shane Almonte.
Further, members of
APO Australia and its YILFS-Australia-
friends and supporters are requested to bring food and drinks as well as sport equipment
that will be shared/used. A fellowship will follow
after the clean-up activity. BBQ facilities are available at the picnic area.
