Kite Flying Festival at Blacktown

ImageThis is to announce that  a Kite Flying Festival will be held at Blacktown Showground, Richmond Road, Blacktown City on 14 January 2007 at 10 A.M. onwards.

Kite flying is very popular in the People's Republic of China, Korea, Japan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Philippines  and many other Asian countries.

Kites have been used for military uses in the past, both for delivery of messages and munitions, and for observation, by lifting an observer above the field of battle, and by using kite aerial photography. Kites have also been used for scientific purposes, radio technical and as light effect carrier.

See you there in this recreational kite flying at Blacktown.
